Delhi’s long-pending development projects are finally set to move forward. In a major administrative push, Lieutenant Governor T. S. Sandhu has cleared several delayed land allocation files, paving the way for key public infrastructure and civic projects across the national capital. The move comes after regular reviews aimed at improving coordination between government departments and speeding up development work.
One of the biggest approvals includes 8.5 hectares of land in Holambi Kalan for India’s first E-Waste Eco Management Park, marking a significant step toward sustainable waste management. The clearance also includes land for expanding waste-to-energy and bio-methanation facilities in Ghazipur, along with approvals for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Atal Canteens, and new Sub-Registrar offices in Dwarka Sector-19 and Mangolpuri.
The development drive also strengthens Delhi’s public safety and infrastructure. Land has been allocated for new police stations in Dilkusha Bagh, Sagarpur, Suyurpur, and Kishangarh, as well as a new forensic science laboratory in Narela and offices for the Intelligence Bureau in Dhirpur and Tahirpur. Housing projects for judicial staff in Rohini and Shahdara have also received the green signal.
Transport and civic infrastructure have received a major boost as well. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been allotted 20 hectares of land in Sanoth for a metro depot and 16 hectares in Narela for a casting yard. Additionally, land has been approved for 24 fixed compactor transfer stations, multiple sewage treatment and pumping stations, and 151 new borewells, signaling a comprehensive push to modernize Delhi’s urban infrastructure and improve public services.
