Shivpuri Set to Become India’s Next Defence Manufacturing Hub as ₹2,500-Crore Adani Plant Breaks Ground

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday laid the foundation stone for Adani Defence & Aerospace’s ₹2,500-crore manufacturing plant in Shivpuri, marking a major step toward transforming the district into one of India’s leading defence production hubs. The facility, to be built along National Highway-27, is expected to be South Asia’s largest private-sector defence and aerospace manufacturing unit, producing ammunition, advanced weapons, mission-ready missiles, and high-tech defence equipment.

During the event, attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Adani Group directors Karan Adani and Jeet Adani, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹211 crore. He announced several new infrastructure initiatives, including a four-lane road, a maternal and child hospital, a cardiology unit, new educational institutions, and healthcare facilities to accelerate Shivpuri’s overall development.

The defence project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities while strengthening local MSMEs by integrating them into the defence manufacturing supply chain. Adani Group also reaffirmed its commitment to invest ₹1.10 lakh crore across Madhya Pradesh by 2030 in sectors including defence, cement, mining, logistics, energy, and infrastructure, aiming to create around 1.2 lakh jobs. The project is being seen as a major boost to the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, positioning Shivpuri as a key player in India’s future defence manufacturing ecosystem.
