Madhya Pradesh is set to take a major step towards making public passenger transport more modern, safe, convenient and environmentally sustainable with the two-day Passenger Transport Vision Summit 2026 in Indore on September 11 and 12. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the summit at the Brilliant Convention Centre, bringing together private bus operators, transport experts, policymakers, state transport undertakings, IT companies and industry representatives to discuss the future of passenger mobility in the state.
A key focus of the summit will be the ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva’, with the government aiming to strengthen public transport through public-private partnerships, advanced IT systems and green-energy-based mobility solutions. The summit will also focus on the MP Mobility Vision 2030, with discussions on attracting private investment, improving bus operations and developing modern transport infrastructure such as bus terminals, multimodal hubs, electric mobility facilities and intelligent transport systems.
During the event, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate an Industry Expo, where bus manufacturers, technology companies, financial institutions and government corporations will showcase new technologies, mobility solutions and innovations. The new logo of Madhya Pradesh Yatri Parivahan and Infrastructure Limited (MPYPIL), a special publication on the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva and the summit souvenir will also be unveiled. A mobility-focused hackathon will further encourage startups to develop innovative technological solutions for the transport sector.
The summit will feature eight major sessions covering smart and safe public transport, PPP-based investment, financially sustainable bus operations, employment and entrepreneurship, passenger safety, AI-based route planning, green mobility and integrated ticketing systems. Experts are expected to discuss electric, hydrogen and flex-fuel buses, charging infrastructure, real-time passenger information, CCTV surveillance, preventive maintenance, automated fare collection and AI-powered transport planning.
Several major companies and institutions, including Tata Motors, EKA Mobility, GreenCell Mobility, Volvo-Eicher, Switch Mobility, Rapido, Chalo Mobility, Indian Oil, SBI, WRI India, BITS Pilani, CEPT Ahmedabad, KPMG and DIMTS, are expected to participate. Through the summit, Madhya Pradesh aims to build a technology-enabled, financially sustainable and passenger-friendly transport ecosystem while creating new opportunities for investment, employment and entrepreneurship in the mobility sector.
