PM Modi Inaugurates ₹480-Crore Jodhpur Airport Terminal, Launches Revamped UDAN Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new ₹480-crore terminal at Jodhpur Airport, marking a major boost to Rajasthan’s aviation infrastructure. Spread across 23,342 square metres, the state-of-the-art terminal can handle up to 2 million passengers annually and features 20 modern check-in counters to ensure a smoother travel experience. Inspired by Rajasthan’s royal heritage, the terminal has been designed with sustainable features and aims to achieve a 5-Star GRIHA green building rating.

During the event, the Prime Minister also launched the revamped UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme to strengthen regional air connectivity across India. The government has earmarked ₹28,840 crore over the next decade to expand aviation access to smaller cities, develop new air routes, and improve balanced regional growth. The new terminal and the enhanced UDAN scheme are expected to boost tourism, trade, and economic development while making air travel more accessible for millions of passengers.
