TCS Launches AgentHub for Pharma Industry, Brings AI to Drug Development

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched TCS ADD AgentHub, a new agentic AI platform designed for pharmaceutical companies to streamline drug development, clinical trials and drug safety operations. The platform enables AI agents to handle repetitive and data-intensive tasks while keeping human teams in control of governance, oversight and final decision-making.

AgentHub can support tasks such as clinical data review, study design, protocol digitisation, analysis of research literature, medical monitoring and drug safety case processing. Pharma companies can also create and assign specialised AI agents according to their specific research and operational requirements. TCS says the platform follows a “Human + AI” operating model, where AI assists professionals rather than replacing human responsibility. This approach is particularly important in pharmaceutical research, where clinical and safety data can be complex and distributed across multiple systems.

According to TCS, solutions built using AgentHub have delivered up to 40% efficiency improvement in clinical data management, while metadata-driven automation could reduce clinical study setup effort by up to 30%. The company also claims up to 30% cost savings in end-to-end safety case processing and up to 50% reduction in quality-control effort through AI-powered safety agents. These figures are company-reported and their real-world impact may vary across pharmaceutical organisations.
