Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an important diplomatic visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to 18, 2026, with participation in the G7 Summit and multiple high-level bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening India’s global partnerships and amplifying the voice of the Global South. The visit will begin in France, where PM Modi will meet President Emmanuel Macron in Nice on June 14 for wide-ranging talks reviewing the India–France strategic partnership, recently elevated to a “Special Global Strategic Partnership.” Both leaders will also jointly inaugurate the “India Innovates” event, bringing together startups and venture capital firms from multiple countries under the India–France innovation framework.
In the second leg, the Prime Minister will make a historic visit to Slovakia from June 14 to 16, marking the first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister since Slovakia’s independence in 1993. He is scheduled to hold talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and meet President Peter Pellegrini, focusing on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, and railways. Following this, PM Modi will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian on June 16–17, where he will engage with world leaders on key global challenges, including sustainable economic growth, artificial intelligence governance, and new international partnerships.
He will also hold multiple bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit. The final leg of the visit will take place in Paris on June 18, where the Prime Minister is expected to participate in the VivaTech Summit and may also address the Indian diaspora. The visit is expected to further strengthen India’s strategic ties with Europe while reinforcing its position as a leading voice of the Global South on global platforms.
