NHAI Creates History on NH-544G, Sets Two Guinness World Records in Andhra Pradesh

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set a new benchmark in highway construction by achieving two Guinness World Records for continuous Bituminous Concrete laying on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G) near Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. NHAI successfully laid 28.95 lane-kilometres of Bituminous Concrete — the longest stretch completed in 24 hours — and used 10,675 metric tonnes of material, marking the highest quantity laid within 24 hours. Both achievements are firsts in their respective Guinness categories.

The record-breaking work was executed on the Vanavolu–Vankarakunta section of the corridor by M/s Rajpath Infracon Pvt. Ltd., under strict adherence to NHAI’s quality and safety standards. The 343-km Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor, once completed, is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, facilitating faster movement of goods and people, boosting trade, tourism and regional development.
