A large protest by members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6, 2026, with participants demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination-related irregularities and wider concerns about the education system. Security was tightened across the national capital as Delhi Police and paramilitary forces were deployed at key locations to maintain law and order. Officials said precautionary arrangements were made in view of the expected crowd and possible tensions during the demonstration.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who arrived from the United States, led the protest and reiterated that the movement would remain “peaceful and non-violent.” He said the aim was to amplify youth concerns and ensure accountability in the education sector. The protest also saw participation from various public figures, including CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, who expressed solidarity with the demonstrators. He highlighted issues such as paper leaks, unemployment, and challenges in public education, calling for the education minister to take responsibility.
During the protest, Delhi Police detained six individuals as a preventive measure to avoid any potential confrontation between groups. Authorities stated that the situation remained under control and no major incidents were reported at the site. The demonstration continues to draw attention as student groups and activists intensify their demand for reforms and accountability in the education system.
