Apple has unveiled one of its biggest September product lineups yet at its annual “Surprise and Shine” event held at Apple Park in California. The headline announcement was the company’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Apple Watch Ultra 4, Apple Watch Series 12 and AirPods 5.
The iPhone Duo marks Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market. It features a 7.9-inch inner OLED display and a liquid-metal hinge designed to minimize the visible crease. Powered by Apple’s 2nm A20 Pro chip, the device is designed to support multitasking with up to three active apps and drag-and-drop workflows. Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, powered by the new A20 Pro chip and Apple’s C2 5G modem. The Pro models feature a 48MP Fusion camera system with a mechanical variable-aperture mechanism, while the Pro Max is claimed to deliver up to 30 hours of battery life.
In the wearables segment, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 brings up to 50 hours of battery life, a new Readiness Score and satellite-based SOS connectivity for off-grid situations. The Apple Watch Series 12 focuses heavily on health tracking, introducing new vital-monitoring capabilities, sleep apnea detection and predictive health alerts. Apple has also refreshed its wireless audio lineup with AirPods 5, featuring redesigned ergonomics, the new H3 audio processor, USB-C charging and improved active noise cancellation. The charging case also includes a built-in speaker to help users locate it through Find My.
For the Indian market, the reported starting price is ₹2,99,900 for the iPhone Duo, ₹1,64,900 for the iPhone 18 Pro series, ₹1,09,900 for Apple Watch Ultra 4, ₹56,900 for Apple Watch Series 12 and ₹14,900 for AirPods 5. Pre-orders in India are expected to begin on September 12, with deliveries starting September 18. With its latest lineup, Apple is placing a strong emphasis on in-house technology, including its 2nm silicon, C2 modem and H3 audio chip. The launch also highlights the company’s growing focus on foldable devices, connected health and deeper integration across its hardware ecosystem.
