Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has introduced a new premium LPG service, ‘Bharatgas Lite ZIP,’ aimed at enhancing convenience for households through advanced technology and faster service. This initiative marks a significant upgrade in domestic cooking fuel distribution, focusing on lighter, safer, and more user-friendly composite gas cylinders. Currently available in Mumbai, the service is slated for a rapid rollout, with plans to cover 100 cities across 24 states by August 15, 2026.
The standout feature of the ‘Bharatgas Lite ZIP’ service is the introduction of composite LPG cylinders. These cylinders are significantly lighter than traditional steel ones, making them much easier to handle for women, the elderly, and small families. Built with a rust-resistant, high-durability design, these cylinders require minimal maintenance. Furthermore, the semi-transparent body of the cylinder allows users to easily monitor the remaining gas level, ensuring they can plan refills ahead of time and avoid the inconvenience of running out of fuel unexpectedly.
BPCL has also prioritized operational efficiency with this service to match the needs of modern consumers. Customers can expect a streamlined process for obtaining new LPG connections, significantly reducing wait times. Coupled with a commitment to express delivery, the service aims to provide a hassle-free experience. This shift by BPCL reflects a broader trend among India’s major oil marketing companies—including Indian Oil and HPCL—to modernize the LPG ecosystem. By prioritizing composite technology, transparency, and superior service delivery, these companies are aiming to offer customers more choice and a higher standard of convenience in their daily cooking fuel requirements.
