Kawasaki Teases New Versys 900 Sport-Tourer, India Launch Yet to Be Confirmed

Kawasaki has teased a new sport-touring motorcycle, tentatively referred to as the Versys 900, offering a glimpse of its touring-focused design. The teaser reveals an upright riding position, a large windscreen, a wide seat and mounting points for side panniers and a top box. However, the company has yet to confirm the bike’s final name, specifications or launch timeline.

The upcoming motorcycle appears designed for long-distance journeys as well as everyday riding. It could share its platform with the Kawasaki Z900, although chassis modifications may be introduced to accommodate touring equipment and additional luggage. The teaser also hints at 17-inch wheels and radial front brake calipers, while longer-travel suspension could improve comfort on uneven roads.

The new Versys could use the Z900’s 948cc, four-cylinder engine, which produces 125 hp and 98.6 Nm of torque in the current Z900. However, Kawasaki has not confirmed whether the same engine output will be retained or whether the powertrain will receive touring-specific tuning. Potential features could include cruise control, riding modes, traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, dual-channel ABS and a 5-inch TFT display. These specifications remain unconfirmed. Kawasaki has also not officially announced an India launch, leaving its availability and expected pricing unknown.
