India’s star opener Smriti Mandhana is closing in on a major world record during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026. The record for the most international runs by a women’s cricketer currently belongs to former India captain Mithali Raj, who scored 10,868 runs in 314 innings. Mandhana has now reached 10,756 runs in 302 innings after scoring 19 against Thailand in the tournament opener.
During this knock, she went past New Zealand great Suzie Bates to take the second spot in the all-time list. Mandhana needs just 113 more runs to overtake Mithali and become the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket. With India’s upcoming matches against Hong Kong on September 3 and Pakistan on September 5, all eyes will be on Mandhana as she looks to create history.
