In Faridabad, Haryana, a major terrorist network was uncovered through a joint operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police and local agencies. A doctor, Mujammil Shakeel from Pulwama, was found to be involved. Authorities recovered 350 kg of ammonium nitrate, two assault rifles, a pistol, walkie-talkies, and 20 timers from his rented house. Police believe these explosives were intended for a major attack.
Dr. Mujammil was working at Al-Falah Medical College and had been living in Dhauj village for the past few months. Investigations revealed his connection with Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather from Kashmir, who was already arrested for links with Jaish-e-Mohammed. Rather’s questioning led authorities to Mujammil, after which the house was raided.
According to Faridabad Police Commissioner Satendra Kumar Gupta, the chemicals seized can be used to make IEDs. Central agencies are now working to trace the full extent of this terrorist network. This case shows that terrorist groups are now involving educated professionals, posing a new challenge for security agencies.
