NewsFlixBharat Agencies | New Delhi : The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has suspended Entod Pharmaceuticals’ permission to manufacture and sell its new eye drops until further notice. These eye drops claimed to reduce the dependence on reading glasses for people suffering from presbyopia.
According to the DCGI’s order, the company did not obtain approval from the Central Licensing Authority for making such claims about the product. The order stated that the pharma company was found guilty of violating the New Drugs and Clinical Trials Rules, 2019, by manufacturing the eye solution without proper authorization.
The order mentioned, “After reading your response, it is clear that you have failed to answer the questions asked.” DCGI had granted permission to Entod in August to manufacture and market the treatment for presbyopia, and later issued a notice to the company on September 5 regarding this matter.
