The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has achieved the 8th position in the Innovation category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, as announced by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The rankings were revealed today, August 12, 2024, by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Education Minister, in New Delhi.
In addition to its success in the Innovation category, IIT Mandi has also made significant strides in other areas. The Institute has climbed to the 31st position in the Engineering category and the 72nd position in the Overall category in this year’s rankings.
During the announcement, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the Ministry’s efforts to make the ranking process more progressive and transparent by incorporating feedback from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). He encouraged both public and private institutions to actively participate in the NIRF rankings, highlighting that this initiative not only helps institutions benchmark their performance but also drives continuous improvement and excellence in the higher education sector.
Dr. Kumar Sambhav Pandey, Registrar of IIT Mandi, expressed his delight at the Institute’s achievement, stating, “We are thrilled to see IIT Mandi secure the 8th position in the Innovation category of NIRF 2024. This recognition underscores our commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among our students and faculty. We remain dedicated to pushing boundaries and contributing meaningfully to the nation’s technological advancements and innovation ecosystem.”
